This season started out a bit unique. The first home football game of the year was rain delayed, but not until after we were almost at the game. Morgan and I headed out with our friends Georgia and Lucas (David was flying home from DC and Matt was coaching). As we walked into the game (with Morgan's big wheelchair and all) a huge monsoon hit. We were closer to the stadium than the van so we decided to find shelter under an awning and wait it out. At first we were doing okay, it was raining hard, but there was little wind. Within a few minutes the wind picked up and the rain was coming in sideways completely soaking us, the kids, and Morgan's chair. Soon her chair was sitting in mud and both the kids were crying. One of the basketball coaches we know drove past us in a golf cart. As soon as he spotted us he put on the brakes and reversed to see if he could help. I told Georgia to go ahead and take Luke out of the rain and I would stay with Morgan's wheelchair. My plan was to just send Morgan along when he came back and I would stay with the chair. Well, by the time he made it back to help the rain had let up to a light drizzle. Morgan and I were soaked head to toe and my hair had gone completely curly. There was no way we were staying for the game. So I helped him load Georgia's stroller on the golf cart and Morgan and I ran to the van. That night we never made it to the game.
The following week the game was rained out completely due to another big monsoon. Since the game was canceled for the night they rescheduled it for Saturday morning at 9. It was fun going to a day game, however, Morgan was not a big fan. She can't stand having the sun in her face, but she still managed to have fun when she saw some of her friends and of course the Bobcat.

The following week we finally made it to a night time game and for once it was totally rain free. As soon as we walked up to the gate by the field Morgan asked for her pom poms so she could cheer. At that same time one of the younger paras at Morgan's preschool who is a graduate from Cienega ran up to say hello. When she spotted Morgan's pom poms she decided that they just wouldn't do. She knows the cheer coach and went to ask her for a pair of pom poms for Morgan. (It happened to be Mini-Bobcat night when they have little girls that go out for a quarter and cheer with the big girls so they had pom poms). Anyway, she was able to get Morgan an official pair of Bobcat Pom Poms. Morgan was so excited!
