Makenzie is 8 months!

 The months are continuing to fly by and our little girl is now already 8 months old! This past month she has really amazed us with how much she has grown and learned how to do. It seemed as though each day this month she discovered something new. Now that she is on the move she never stops!

Here are some pictures of Makenzie at 8 months! (sorry, there are a ton, but they were just too cute to cut).

Eating: Makenzie eats solids twice a day right now. She gets fruits in the morning and veggies at night. She then gets milk every 3-4 hours. She also has started on some 'finger foods' to work on the pincher grasp. She LOVES puffs and would much rather eat those than her solids most days.

Sleeping: UGH!!!! This is still a MAJOR struggle during the day. She still refuses to take a good nap. I still think the biggest reason for this is that it is really hard to be consistent because most days of the week we are on the go for appointments and the times we are on the go vary. You can almost guarantee that she will sleep in the car so a few times I have resorted to driving around Vail for an hour just so she will sleep. Since napping still isn't going well during the day Makenzie is still going to bed early every night. She is down most nights by 6:00. She then will usually sleep until 2 or 3 before waking to eat. A few times she has then waited until 6 to wake again, but most nights she will wake for a 2nd feeding. I am working to break her of this habit.

Likes:
* Now that Makenzie can crawl every where she loves to crawl after her sister. Her favorite toy right now is Morgan's walker, which often upsets Morgan because Kenzie will crawl over and pull up and get in Morgan's way.
* She loves her lights and sounds mirror and her music table.
* LOVES puffs!
*Makenzie still enjoys the bath.
* Pretty much anything Morgan has Kenzie likes. She wants to do everything her big sister is doing.

Dislikes:
* Eating her solids most days. I feel like I waste so much food with this little girl. One day she gobbles up carrots and the next I can't get her to take a single bite. Like I said, most times she would prefer to eat a bunch of puffs than any of her solids.
*Being tossed in the air. Although David never officially 'tosses' her, when he lifts her up really high she gets this look of panic on her face still and clenches her hands and feet up.She is definitely not the dare devil that her big sister is.
*Taking naps! (this is something she does get from her big sis)

Here are some pictures and highlights from her 8th month:

1. Makenzie has really started to get into books. She enjoys both looking at them and having them read to her.

2. Now that Makenzie is crawling (she started crawling at exactly 7 months! 12-14-12), she is into every thing! Especially anything that is Morgan's.

 3. Makenzie is now eating 'finger foods'. These are pictures of her trying them for the first time.

 4. Makenzie took her first trip to Sea World where along with her cousin Lucas and big sis Morgan she got to meet Elmo and friends.

5. Makenzie went outside on the swing set for the first time. She enjoyed swinging with her big sis and acting like a goof ball with Morgan.

Love that they both are sticking out their tongues.
