Then and Now

Over the past several months Morgan has changed so much. She is learning to do so many new things, so I thought at 2 years and just shy of 4 months I would do a little reflecting back to show just how far she has come.
This picture was taken by David a few minutes after Morgan was born. As you can see she was not able to move much at all. At birth Morgan's arms were folded, her hands fisted, and her legs hyperextended. She could not move her legs at all or open her hands. Here is a recent picture of Morgan at 2 years and almost 4 months old. It is amazing to see how far she has come and how much she has learned. It was not without a lot of hard work, tears, and pain on her part though.

Here is a list of just some of the many things my amazing little girl has learned how to do over the years:
1. hold and play with everything
2. drink from a cup
3. roll over to her left
4. hold her head up on her tummy
5. sit while playing
6. stand up with support to play
7. reach side to side for toys
8. take steps in her walker
9. sit up (on her wedge, her latest accomplishment)
10. say DADDY! and so many other words. She will attempt just about anything you say, so watch what you say around her.
11. to army crawl, she is pulling herself a few inches at a time with pants on the tile and even trying to transition from sitting to crawling.
12. use a spoon or fork (she only gets this a few times during each meal, but is making HUGE progress).
13. she knows all her colors, shapes, can count (did it to 6 on her own), and recognizes some letters (especially A for U of A).
14. drive a powerwheel chair (not many two year olds can say that!)

This list doesn't even cover it all. Our little girl has continued to amaze us with all the things she is learning to do and although there are still many things that Morgan can not do that typical two year olds can do there is one thing my little girl does better than any other two year old I know and that is LOVE. She is the sweetest little thing you will ever meet with the kindest heart who gives the worlds greatest hugs. We are just so proud of her!

  1. For all reading this - Lori is right, she IS the best hugger!!!

She can also paint with a paint brush and paints, color amazing pictures with markers or crayons and boy oh boy can that girl eat anything with syrup on it!!!

She can also take apart large legos, hold and love a dollie and drive hotwheels around the Fisher Price Garage and play the piano and sing!

    :-)
