Morgan is loving school. One of her favorite days of the week is Fridays for two reasons: 1. it is spirit day as she kindly reminds David each week to make sure Daddy dresses her in her spirit shirt. 2. It is library day. Morgan loves getting to go to the library each week and pick out a new book. Of course the first visit to the library was a bit rough though when she was told she couldn't get a horse book. In kindergarten they are supposed to check out a book with an 'easy reader' sticker on them. That day there was only one 'easy reader' about horses and another little girl beat her to it. Boy was Morgan disappointed.
Anyway, about a month ago Morgan had a really exciting Friday. Part of our morning announcements each Friday is the announcement of the student of the week for each grade level. Well, we are very proud to say that Morgan was named as Student of the Week for Kindergarten the week of July 30th-August 3rd (sorry I am really behind in bragging about her). She was so excited to hear her name of the announcements and get to go up front to get her picture taken by her Aunt Georgia. They then hang the kids pictures on display in the front office for the week. Morgan enjoyed getting to drive into the office each day that week and see herself on the wall.
We are just so proud of our little girl and what an amazing job she is doing at school. She is doing well in class academically and is making lots of friends. One day while I was on morning duty on the kinder playground I was watching Morgan play in her walker. She marched herself right up to a little boy and asked him if he wanted to play. That night at dinner when I asked her why she asked him if he wanted to play she told me "cause he was all by himself." So sweet!
