Where has the time gone? I can hardly believe that in less than a month we will be celebrating Makenzie's first birthday. It seems like just yesterday that we had her.
Makenzie at 11 months:
(getting her to sit still is harder every month)

| I think she's done with pictures. |
Our little girl has continued to grow so fast this month. She took off walking on March 23rd at 10 months and 9 days and hasn't stopped since. It is rare to find Kenzie crawling these days. The only time she does is when she is 'hiding' from us in our room. It is one of her favorite games. If we forget to close our bedroom door Kenzie takes off into our room and goes to David's side of the bed. She gets down and crawls over towards the corner and giggles because she knows we are coming for her. It is too funny. This month she has really started to show her little personality and is such a funny girl. Not only does she enjoy playing her hiding game, but she loves to stand behind people and play peek-a-boo behind their back, she likes to blow raspberries on my arm and then giggle like crazy, and she loves to tickle your belly. If David, Morgan, or I are lying on the floor while we are playing as a family she will walk over to you, lift up your shirt to find your belly button, and tickle you. Kenzie is also learning many new things including some new words. She has started saying go, she occasionally signs more and all done, Grandma says she can say woof woof (haven't heard this myself yet), and I swear the other day she said dog. She is understanding so much too. She knows where nose, eyes, and toes are on her baby doll, if you ask her where her shoes go she will point to her toes, and if you ask if she wants to go outside she will head straight to the door. Kenzie loves to play outside. She enjoys picking the flowers at her grandparents during the day and swinging on her swing after dinner with Morgan. This month she has also started wanting to swing with Morgan on 'Skittles' in the playroom. I wish I had taken some video of this (I will try for next month). It is hilarious, she will say go, go, and then squeal with delight as Morgan gets the swing going. I of course keep a tight hold on her because after about 15 seconds Kenzie usually decides she is all done and tries to jump off.
Here are Kenzie's 11 month stats:
*Height: hmm...haven't been measured in a while, but she is a peanut. All her 9 month stuff still fits and most of her shorts look more like capris on her and capris look like pants.
*Weight: haven't had this checked either. I am guessing she is somewhere between 17 and 18 pounds.
*Teeth: 6, still 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. I think 2 more are about to cut through
*Diapers: size 3
*Shoes: size 3
Eating:
Makenzie is actually doing much better this month with her eating. We figured out that she just wants to eat what we are eating and how we are eating it. She didn't want any of that pureed yucky baby stuff any more. She now eats just about anything we are having for dinner in just tiny bite sized pieces. She loves feeding herself and even does the spoon by herself if you fill it with the food. She is little Miss Independent.
Sleeping:
I wish I could say this has gotten better. It hasn't, in fact, I think it has gotten worse. I think this little one who barely napped to begin with is ready to go down to just one nap a day. I just pray it is a long one nap and not her usual 20 minutes. Lately she has been sleeping for an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes at her grandparents. Usually from 10ish to 11ish. When this happens the afternoon nap though is very quick (20 minutes) to non-existent. I am really hoping that with our summer break coming up in about a month we can get into a good routine and have her napping. Kenzie still sleeps great at night and with her little to no nap in the afternoons lately she is back to going to bed between 5:45 and 6:30.
Likes:
*To be silly.
*To pick flowers and rocks.
*To be outside
*Reading books. She carries around a little book called Baby Dolphins and flips through it all the time.
*The letter O. Makenzie has an alphabet puzzle at her grandparents and if you ask her for the O she finds it. She also finds the O off our fridge and from our bathtub and is constantly walking around with it.
*Climbing in chairs, especially Morgan's little green chair which has now become Kenzie's chair.
*Dancing
Dislikes:
*Napping
*Brushing her teeth. She loves to do it herself, but does not like to let you help. Again, Little Miss Independent
*Playing dress-up (see below)
Here are some highlights from this month:
1. Makenzie got to visit in Phoenix for a week with her family. She meet for the first time and Aunt Chrissy, Uncle Keith, and Cousins (Trey, Elijiah, Abigail, and Sawyer) from TN.
2. She discovered Morgan's green chair. It is now one of her favorite spots to hang out in.
3. She had her photos taken along with the rest of the family.
4. We enjoyed some beautiful weather and playing outside in the water table.

5. She played dress-up as Tinker Bell with her big sis. As you can tell she wasn't a fan, of course this may have also been due to the fact that she decided not to nap that afternoon.
6. She also discovered Morgan's pink chair...

| Love this picture. It's like she's already trying to tell me she's not listening. |
8. Kenzie spent more days out at TROT playing in the dirt.
9. Morgan introduced Makenzie to her puppy, Snowball. It was so funny to watch Kenzie take Snowball in.
10. We enjoyed a family picnic at the park. This is David and the girls checking out the rose bushes inside the beautiful little garden at the park.
11. Kenzie found another chair to sit in....
13. Makenzie took off with walking!
14. Makenzie learned to dance.
