Makenzie is 15 months!

Time continues to be flying by and both girls and growing up way too fast. Makenzie is now 15 months old and is as spunky as can be. She can be sweet as can be one second and throwing a huge tantrum the next. Kenz knows what she wants and does not like when she can't have it. As David often says, she is the most dependent independent person he knows.

Here are Kenzie's 15 month stats:
Height: 29 inches (between the 5th and 10th percentile)
Weight: 19 pounds 2 ounces (below the 5th percentile)
Clothes: mostly 12 months
Shoe size: 3
Diaper size: 3

Eating: It is scary how much Makenzie is like me at times. This girl has definitely inherited my eating habits. She absolutely refuses to try new things. There are only a few fruits we can get her to eat and she loves pastas, breads, and meats. Definitely my child. Some of Makenzie's favorite foods include gold fish, oatmeal, mac n cheese, and cheese crisps.

Sleeping: I think we finally have a decent routine during the day. Makenzie is still going to be early (between 6:30 and 7:00). She sleeps solid until 5 am. I wish she would sleep later, but even when we try a later bed time she is still up at 5. During the day Makenzie takes two naps. The first is a quick nap from 8:30-9:00. She then takes her afternoon nap from 12:30 to about 1:30 or 1:45. Still not too long, but definitely an improvement from where we were, so I will take it.

Likes:
* Being outside. Kenzie would play outside all day long if we let her. I am so ready for it to cool off so we can.
*Shoes. Kenzie always wants to be wearing her shoes, even with her footie pjs on.
*Running through the house with Daddy. David gives Morgan shoulder rides through the house and now Kenzie loves to join in by riding in his arms at the same time. She shouts Go Go! the whole time.
*Hats. Makenzie loves to wear hats, especially when going outside.
* Watching cartoons with her big sis. When ever I say to Morgan 'do you want to watch cartoons while I cook dinner?' Kenzie will zoom to the living room and flop herself down on Morgan's wedge pillow in position to watch their favorite cartoon, Sophia the First. It is one of my favorite things getting to watch my two girls spending time together.
*Doing laundry. I joke that I need to video tape how much she enjoys this now for when she is a teenager. Kenzie will get the laundry basket, push it into the laundry room, unload the dryer on her own, close it up and push the basket to whichever room it needs to go to. Now to just teach her to fold and hang the clothes.

Dislikes:
* Trying new foods.
* Being told no. If Makenzie doesn't get her way she throws a huge tantrum.
*The dentist- see below.

Words:
*Dada
*Papa (for both Pa and Grandpa)
*Outside
*sho (for shoes)
*up
*eat
*all done
*hat
*go
*bow-wow (for dog)
*moo (for cow)

Here are some highlights from Makenzie's 15 month:

Kenzie helping me out with our Friday chores.

Like her big sis, Kenzie always has a book in her hands.

Makenzie loves to color. She even discovered how fun it is to color on mommy's tile. Thank goodness for magic erasers.

Morgan convinced Kenzie to play 'bowtique' with her. Once the bows were in we couldn't get her to take them out.

Waiting for her turn at the dentist.

Sitting like a big girl ready for her exam.

Makenzie's favorite part was the cartoons on tv.

Makenzie refused to open her mouth. Poor Dr. D had to pry it open.
After watching Morgan at JAWS on week Makenzie showed so much interest in the wheelchairs we decided to let her test out Morgan's old Buzz chair. She loved it and it was a great motivator to help Morgan get moving faster.

On her 15 month birthday we had a visit with the orthopedic surgeon. Makenzie's all cleared from her torticollis and PT! Yeah!!!!

Makenzie playing school. She thinks she is big stuff with her backpack on.
