Getting older, but never growing up

This weekend was packed full of stuff. We started our Saturday early leaving the house around 10 for the first of two birthday parties. The first was for our friend's Michael and Treasure's little girl Zaylee. She was turning 2. Morgan has always enjoyed playing with Zaylee and Kyleah, but they live in Marana so we don't get to play often. Since Morgan is doing so well with her walking lately we decided to take her walker to give her a way to get around and us a way to set her down for a few minutes. We have been going to parties for their kids for three years now, this being the fourth party, so we see many of the same people at each party. All of them of course recognize Morgan and are always saying how much she has grown. This time it was really nice to see them all and hear their comments because sometimes since we are with her everyday we don't see the changes as much. Everyone was blown away with her walking. She found a big rocking horse that she just had to have and took off across the room. She probably walked 15 feet in less than 2 minutes. And she did it multiple times to get that pony. She loved it!

After the first party we took a quick nap in the car and then headed to my friend Staci's house for her daughter Hayden's first birthday. This party was going to have a lot of smaller kids that would be crawling so we opted to leave the walker in the car, but Morgan still had a great time. Hayden had a small pool set up in the back and Morgan hopped right in with her feet and totally soaked the rest of herself. She and her friend Seth had a blast wacking two pool noodles together like swords and ended up soaking wet.

We arrived home by 7pm in time for a quick snack, bath, and bed. Morgan was partied out!

Sunday we got up and going early again. We had planned to take Morgan to her first movie, Toy Story 3! She was so excited but kept asking to see the big screen outside. Previously we have taken Morgan to a few movies that were outdoors, one at my dad's, one at school, and one at a park. We had to explain that this movie would be indoors in a huge theater that would be dark and that there would be popcorn. Morgan LOVED it! Especially the popcorn. I wish we could have taken pictures in the movie. At one point she had the large bucket of popcorn on her lap and was reaching in for popcorn at the bottom and her whole head was inside the bucket. It was too funny. She also loved the movie. It was very cute; I highly recommend it to your little ones especially if they are Woody and Buzz fans.

After the movie was over we headed to Babies R Us so I could return something. Well, David decided that since Toys R Us is right next door they would go take a look at some toys instead of waiting in line with me. About an hour later and two new toys in hand we left. We just couldn't resist, they were clearancing their summer stuff so I picked up a flower sprinkler for $4 for Morgan to play in and David picked up a $6 slip and slide. He thought since Morgan is such a daredevil that she would love for him to toss her down the slide on her back. It also came with what they called a "body board" that you blow up and can slide down so we thought maybe she would do that and we could just give her a push.

Well, we got home and got it all set up. Morgan was very excited, but on the first 'toss' down she got a face full of water and wasn't too sure. Then we attempted the 'body board' and about halfway down she rolled right off of it. Well, this was starting to look like a bust so to make Morgan happy and get her to think it was fun David decided she needed to see her daddy do it so he took off face first down it. She thought it was hilarious! David then decided that maybe what she needed was for them to do it together. So he held her out in front and took off. She loved it! They ended up playing on the slip and slide and in the sprinkler together for well over 40 minutes. I wasn't sure which of them were having more fun. I guess we get older but we never truly grow up!
