Monday: Monday was Memorial Day so David was home from work. Morgan had actually had a sleepover the night before at her Grandparents so David and I could go out to celebrate our anniversary. It was great; we actually got a full night's sleep! So... we were child free til about 11:00. Once we picked up Morgan we took her for a trip to Target to practice driving her chair. She is really getting to be an amazing driver. She still has her moments, but sometimes she surprises us with the maneuvers she can make. After our trip to Target we headed home for nap and then took off for dinner at Matt's parent's house. It was a fun day and Morgan had a great time playing with her cousin Lucas, swinging in his swing, and blowing bubbles.
Tuesday: We had Morgan's eye doctor appointment. She did a great job and wanted to be a 'big girl' and sit all by herself in the chair. She handled the eye drops really well and then did a great job communicating the pictures she saw. It was determined that Morgan's prescription had become weaker (meaning better) and that her right eye had improved a lot. We had been patching the left to strengthen the right eye which had started to "wander" a bit. Anyway, the doctor said that while she could still "make" her right eye wander Morgan work correct it immediately. She felt that Morgan was doing well enough to discontinue using not only the patch but the glasses too. So we are now going "cold turkey" for the next three months to see how she will do. YEAH!!! We are so excited to have one less thing to worry about and make sure we are doing each day. Morgan is excited too.
After the doctor's appointment we headed home for lunch and nap time. After getting up we headed to our friends Maggie and Lindsey's house for a swim playdate. Morgan was so excited to see the girls and have the chance to swim. The water was like a bath and the weather was perfect. Morgan had a blast in the pool and loved getting to jump into the water. After swimming we had popsicles and a little time for the swing.

Wednesday: We headed to a morning at the zoo. We made sure to get there right when the zoo opened so we could get it all in before the heat of the day hit. Our timing was perfect. Hardly anyone was there to start the morning and by the time we had seen just about all we could see it was starting to get hot.
Morgan had fun exploring the zoo with her friends Avery, Emmaline, Hayden, Lucas, and Brady. She was especially excited to see her buddy Brady and to hear that he had learned to say "Morgan."

Stopping to pet the snakes. This took a lot for me. I absolutely HATE snakes, but I sucked it up and was a good mom and helped Morgan go over to pet them. I am glad she has no fears, I just hope she never asks for one as a pet.

About halfway through the zoo Morgan decided that she should be the photographer for the day. She loves the camera and taking pictures. She kept saying to everyone and everything "cheese." She took the photo above as well as the next two.

After the zoo we stopped at In n Out with Georgia, Lucas, Staci, and Hayden. Morgan had already had her peanut butter and jelly sandwich so she just enjoyed a few fries and a bit of a shake.
Thursday: Morgan spent the whole day at home just playing. She started the morning with speech therapy and did an awesome job working on multi-syllable words. She then had some Grandpa time while I ran out to take a quick workshop. She worked really hard today walking all the way from our living room into her bedroom to play. She also played outside at her water table and watered the plants for over an hour (she loves to be outside).
Friday: Today has been another fun day just hanging out at home. We had Morgan's friends Maggie and Lindsey over for a playdate this morning. She had so much fun playing with the girls. They played babies, tea party, playdough, the water table, and made coffee filter butterflies.
I am sad that week one of break is already over, but it was a fun week. Next week will be another packed week with something different planned everyday. I don't think we have a free day until the fourth week of break, but I like to stay busy.
